The LR-9002 Load Response Knee Joint allows 18 degrees of knee flexion during the stance phase of gait. The LR-9002 permits stance phase knee flexion and provides shock absorption, the principal reason for knee flexion in stance. The LR-9002 has a preloaded spiral torsional spring that maintains knee joint stability for individuals with quadriceps weakness. Biomechanical Rational: The loading response phase of gait has three critical events Limb stability to accept body weight. Preservation of progression. Shock absorption to dissipate floor impact force.
